Master uPVC Pressure Pipes & Fittings

Master uPVC Pressure Pipes ” pvc pipe ” are manufactured in conformity with BS-3505:1968/ PS-3051:1991. Master uPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) Pressure Pipes ” pvc pipe ” are used for potable drinking water distribution. Traditional material such as steel, cast iron and concrete suffer from problems of corrosion, cost, transportation and a short uncertain life span. None of these problems are associated with PVC Pipes. In fact uPVC considered one of the most versatile and economical of the engineered thermoplastic.

Temperature Consideration

Though the softening point of Master uPVC Pipes is between 75 C to 85 C, it is recommended not to use these pipes for hot water beyond 55 C. In an open uPVC Pipe, the water will freeze below 0 C causing increase in volume inside the pipe. However, it will not crack or burst due to its resilience but cause it to become brittle and liable to break due to any impact.

Characteristics & Advantages of Master uPVC Pipes

The utility of the uPVC Pressure Pipe for the conveyance and distribution of potable drinking water has been proven. Master uPVC Pipes provide the following distinct advantages over conventional types of pipes like Mild Steel (MS), Cast Iron (CI), Galvanized Iron (GI), Reinforced Concrete Cement (RCC) and Asbestos Cement (AC) Pipes.

*Resistant to elements injurious to health i.e. free from corrosion, abrasion, growth of acteria, algae and fungi.

*Installation is easy as the weight is low and the simplicity to join reduces the installation time, which ultimately makes it cost effective.

*High flow capabilities since uPVC Pipes are non-corrosive and inert to chemical or electro-chemical resistance.

*It does not support combustion.

*Thermally and electrically insulated.

*It does not affect the taste, odour or smell of drinking water.

Classification of Master Pipe

Master Pipes are classified by their maximum sustained working Pressure in the following classes, based on working stress of material at 20°C

Class B 6.0 bar 60 m Head of water
Class C 9.0 bar 90 m Head of water
Class D 12.0 bar 120 m Head of water
Class E 15.0 bar 150 m Head of water
